The Role of Women in Pakistan Movement

You have heard and read about Pakistan Movement so many times so far. once again i am here to present this historical era in my words because its necessary to remind every Pakistani that how it was possible to build a new Homeland in which we are living.


The first brick in the foundation of Pakistan was laid in 712 A.D. When Muhammad Bin Qasim conquered Debal Port at Sind and since then Pakistan Movement started when the first Muslim put his foot on the soil of Sind, the Gateway of Islam in India.


Pakistan Movement is the struggle to creat a new homeland by the Muslims of subcontinent against Hindu and Britian. The movement was led by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, along with not only Muslim Men played a great role but Muslim Women took a significant part as well.


The first important and Vital name of Mohtarima Fatima Jinnah and there were many women stood by her. In this subject i am trying to describe briefly some of those great ladies role.


Lady Abdullah Haroon


Her real name is Nusrat Khanum, she was born in Iran in 1886. Her parents migrated to India and after that settled in Karachi. She married Sir Abdullah Haroon in 1914. She is very kind hearted lady and wanted to take steps in women's welfare. first of all she started a school at her home for women's education, she also took a part to improve social and economic condition of women of sind.

In 1919 she started to take a part in the politics of subcontinent and was a strong supporter of Khilafat Movement.


In 1938 she was nominated to the Women's central subcommittee of the All India Muslim League she worked very hard to bring all Muslim Women on the Muslim League Platform.She always stuck by Mohtarima Fatima Jinnah whether it was the time of collecting donations or hard task of elections.


She dedicated her life to Pakistan. In 1966 she was died.
